[Birthday Tree Cake Cutting] is 🎂 🎄 our newly launched project activity at GreenUp Uganda. We believe everyone's birthday should leave behind more than just memories — it should create a lasting impact.

Instead of cutting a cake, we’ve started a beautiful custom or tradition: planting a tree to celebrate life. 🌳

Each tree planted is:

● A gift back to our Mother Earth

● A step toward cleaner air and a greener future

● A living symbol of remembrance and celebration

With just $10, you can make your birthday more meaningful by joining our mission to plant trees that stand tall for generations.

● Could you celebrate your special day with purpose.

● Leave a legacy.

● Be part of the solution.

Together, let’s grow a greener Uganda, one birthday tree at a time.

Just only $10 today, and let your next birthday be a gift to the planet. And it's very possible to buy more than even 20 or 100 tree.

Much love

In the past few years, GreenUp Uganda has worked with hundreds of young people—equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and passion to protect our environment and build a sustainable future. 🌍🌱 and more than 1,000+ trees have been planted

From tree planting drives in schools, to climate-smart gardening, to creative recycling workshops turning waste into useful items, our youth-led initiatives are proving that when young people take the lead, communities transform.

Just like when students in Wakiso District worked together to plant indigenous trees while learning about biodiversity, climate resilience, and the power of community action. Their energy and commitment inspire us every day.

This year’s #InternationalYouthDay theme, Local Youth Action for the Sustainable Development Goals and Beyond, reminds us that the fight for a cleaner, greener Uganda is in capable hands—our youth.

When we invest in them, we invest in a thriving planet. 🌿💚. Yes you can be part of the Solution..!

Do it now

At the heart of every thriving society is its young people. We believe—deeply and unapologetically—in their power to drive meaningful change. Young people hold the key to the future, and their voices, ideas, and passions deserve to be heard, nurtured, and empowered.

That’s why we’ve made it our mission to put the tools of change directly into their hands—starting with something as simple, yet transformative, as a garden.

Why School Gardens?

School gardens are more than just green spaces. They are living classrooms where young minds engage in hands-on learning, creativity, and collaboration. Through gardening, students don’t just grow food—they grow ideas, responsibility, and a deeper understanding of the natural world.

Our garden initiatives give students the chance to:

Explore science and ecosystems by observing how plants grow and how nature works in harmony.

Learn sustainable practices like composting and water conservation.

Build community through teamwork, sharing knowledge, and caring for a shared space.

Develop life skills such as patience, responsibility, and problem-solving.

Planting the Seeds of Environmental Stewardship

As students dig into the soil, they also dig into topics that matter—climate change, food systems, and environmental responsibility. They learn that their actions, no matter how small, can make a big impact. Composting lunch scraps, saving water, or tending to a tomato plant might seem like simple tasks, but these everyday actions build habits of care for our planet.

A Garden in Every School

That’s why we are committed to introducing as many school garden projects as possible. Each garden is a seed of hope and change. When students are given the space and support to connect with nature, grow their own food, and see the results of their efforts, they become more than learners—they become leaders.

We believe in the power of young people, and we’re giving them the tools—and the soil—to prove it.
