Our New Tree Nursery Program to Plant More Than 1,000 Trees by End of 2025.

At GreenUp Uganda, our commitment to environmental restoration and community empowerment continues to grow stronger. We are pleased to announce the establishment of a new tree nursery bed, marking another significant step in our mission to promote reforestation and climate action through education and community involvement.

Through this initiative, we aim to raise and plant more than 1,000 trees before the end of 2025, working hand in hand with school children and local community members. This effort reflects our belief that environmental sustainability begins with awareness and participation at the grassroots level — especially among young people.

The new nursery will serve as a learning and resource center where children can actively engage in tree planting, nursery management, and environmental education. Beyond producing seedlings, it will nurture values of responsibility, care, and stewardship for the planet.

Our vision extends beyond 2025. By 2026, We plan to expand this effort to…

Do It Now - Plant the future

For years, GreenUp Uganda has worked hand in hand with children, local families, and communities to protect the environment, promote education, and create a greener, more hopeful future. Our journey has been powered by the generosity of friends, community members, and even contributions from our own small salaries. This support has kept us going, but relying solely on donations can be unpredictable. There are moments when help slows down, and important activities are delayed. It’s time for a sustainable solution.

That solution is land. Owning land means building a permanent foundation for our work—a space that will grow with us, expand our reach, and keep inspiring change for generations to come. It is more than just soil; it is the base for education, empowerment, and environmental action. With $14,286, we can secure 5 acres of land—each acre costing $2,858 (10,003,000 UGX). Our dream is to get the full 5 acres,…

🌍 Every Tree We Plant. Every Child We Teach. Every Action We Take—Matters.

Don’t Wait for Change. Be the Solution That Brings It. At GreenUp Uganda, We Say: Do It Now.

Trying to Plant tree
Trying to Plant tree

In the face of a rapidly changing climate, environmental degradation, and disappearing green spaces, the most dangerous thing we can do is wait.

Wait for someone else to act, Wait for better timing, Wait for permission.

But at GreenUp Uganda, we’ve chosen a different path. We believe in urgency with purpose. We believe that the planet needs more than ideas—it needs action. And that action must begin with us. It must begin now.

The Power Of Young People: Growing Change Through School Gardens

ree

ree

At the heart of every thriving society is its young people. We believe—deeply and unapologetically—in their power to drive meaningful change. Young people hold the key to the future, and their voices, ideas, and passions deserve to be heard, nurtured, and empowered.

That’s why we’ve made it our mission to put the tools of change directly into their hands—starting with something as simple, yet transformative, as a garden.

Why School Gardens?

School gardens are more than just green spaces. They are living classrooms where young minds engage in hands-on learning, creativity, and collaboration. Through gardening, students don’t just grow food—they grow ideas, responsibility, and a deeper understanding of the natural world.
